STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — An update on a road widening project in Richmond Valley will be delivered during a Staten Island Community Board meeting this week, while another public meeting will address updates to board administrative rules and procedures.

Community Board 1

Community Board 1 has no meetings planned next week.

Community Board 2

Community Board 2 will host a meeting of its Law Committee on Thursday, Feb. 5, to review proposed changes to the board’s Administrative Rules of Procedure.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., and will take place at Executive Suites at the Park, 900 South Ave., Bloomfield, in the third-floor conference room.

Committee members are expected to discuss amendments to the board’s bylaws, specifically those concerning the district manager’s authority over staff. The proposed changes have not yet been made public, but the review marks the next step in the ongoing effort to update and clarify internal governance practices.

Community Board 3

Community Board 3 will hold two public meetings on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at its office at 1243 Woodrow Rd, Woodrow, on the second floor.

A Traffic & Transportation Committee meeting and public hearing is set for 6:30 p.m., during which representatives from the Staten Island Department of Design and Construction and the city Department of Transportation are scheduled to present an update on the Richmond Valley Road Widening Project, which spans from Arthur Kill Road to Page Avenue.

Staten Island elected officials have called on the city to begin designing and implementing a road widening project for the southern segment of Arthur Kill Road, calling the issue an urgent priority.

A second public meeting, the Community Alliance Committee hearing, will begin at 7 p.m. That session will focus on New York State Liquor Authority applications for new and temporary retail permits.
