Fire scorches homes in South Ozone Park, Queens

We’re following this developing story.

QUEENS, New York (WABC) — A second alarm fire burned through two homes in the South Ozone Park section of Queens Wednesday morning.

Police say the fire broke out in one home on Lincoln Street and spread to another at around 2:20 a.m. The fire appeared to have begun in the rear of one of the homes, and residents quickly evacuated.

Heavy fire was seen shooting out of roof of one of the homes.

Two people were treated for minor injuries.

Police are looking into whether fireworks may have been involved in sparking the flames, but have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
