NEW YORK, N.Y. | The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) and New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) have announced that Amaru Perales (Harrison, N.J./Harrison) was named CUNYAC Honorable Mention and NJAC Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards for Perales are the first for the 2026 season for him. Perales was an anchor for the Gothic Knights on both offense and defense during the 2026 Statesman Tournament this past weekend. Offensively, Perales tallied 29 kills while hitting .407, good for 37.5 points and 2.23 kills per set. His defensive performance was even more impressive as he tallied 14 total blocks (1 solo), good for a robust 1.08 blocks per set.
