A Central New York county had one of the top 25 longest commutes in the state during a five-year period from 2020 to 2024, according to new census data.

Oswego County’s average commute time of 25.1 minutes was the 25th-longest in the state in that period. Oswego was tied with Livingston County for the No. 25 spot.

The Census Bureau released the new data Jan. 29.

Four of the top five counties with the longest average commutes in the state in the new data were New York City boroughs:

Bronx County: 43.3 minutes, No. 1 statewideRichmond County (Staten Island): 43.1 minutes, No. 2Queens County: 42.9 minutes, No. 3Kings County (Brooklyn): 41.7 minutes, No. 4

Those were also the only counties in the state with average commute times over 40 minutes. No. 5 was Putnam County at 39.3 minutes.

Commute times for the big four Upstate New York counties were toward the bottom of the list:

Albany County: 21.4 minutes, No. 49 statewideErie County: 21.3 minutes, No. 50Onondaga County: 20.2 minutes, No. 56Monroe County: 19.9 minutes, No. 59
