A Northern New York man is dead after a barricade situation in Altona on Monday.New York State Police said the man, a 62-year-old from Altona, was wanted on an active arrest warrant and barricaded himself inside his home on Military Turnpike.Police said the man refused to surrender to police despite efforts from the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team and Crisis Negotiations Unit.Troopers later used drones to enter the home and found the man dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.No other injuries were reported.An investigation is underway.
