BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — It was a time of boots and scarves, snowplows and snow blowers, and quick walks along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade to catch a glimpse of drifting ice floes in the East River. Winter Storm Fern dropped more than a foot of snow between Jan. 25-26, and much of it still remains, frozen on the ground.

Brooklyn’s Arctic weather continues, with sub-freezing temperatures and the promise of more snow to come. A polar vortex could bring one more round of frigid air across the city around the middle of February, according to AccuWeather.
