QUEENS, NY — A 2-year-old boy has died after his father allegedly beat him at a Queens homeless shelter over the weekend.

The two-year-old boy had been on a ventilator since Monday after suffering severe injuries including a blown pupil, brain damage, fractured pelvis, and a lacerated liver, among others, prosecutors said.

The boy’s father, Dayvon Morrison, 30, told prosecutors he was drunk when he attacked the 2-year-old on Jan. 30.

Morrison was arrested on Monday after he brought the boy back to his mother’s house and a witness noticed the boy’s injuries and called police. He has been charged with attempted murder and assault, but those are expected to be upgraded after the boy’s death.

Cyndy Williams, the boy’s mother, said on Wednesday, that she had warned the Administration for Children’s Services about Morrison, according to PIX11.

An investigation remains ongoing.
