NEW YORK CITY — A 25-year-old New Jersey man died after falling seven stories while washing windows at Columbia University’s School of Nursing in New York City, police said.

The victim, identified by the New York Daily News as Ander Bustamante of Kearny fell to the street below near West 168th Street and Broadway after his safety harness snapped around 9:11 a.m. on Oct. 19, according to New York City Police Department officials.

Bustamante was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The New York State Department of Labor is investigating the workplace accident, police said.
