LAFARGEVILLE, New York (WWNY) – New York State Police are searching for a suspect believed to be armed.
According to State Police, troopers responded to County Route 13 in the Town of Alexandria around 3 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, troopers learned that a male suspect, identified as Geoffrey M. Ingersoll, 40, of LaFargeville, fled the residence on foot into a nearby field while armed with a handgun.
State Police, along with assisting law enforcement agencies, are actively searching the area for Ingersoll.
The public is urged not to approach the individual and to contact 911 immediately if they see anyone matching his description or have information about his whereabouts.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
