Brunswick Burger House plans to open soon in Metuchen at the former Friendly’s restaurant that closed after nearly 50 years.
The business owner is going through the approval process to open the 2,400-square-foot restaurant at 550 Middlesex Ave., according to a Metuchen zoning official.
Brunswick Burger House, which currently operates one restaurant at 215 Roosevelt Ave. in Carteret, is planning a big expansion with four new locations.
The locations listed as “coming soon” include Metuchen, Newark, East Brunswick and Parsippany.
The menu includes smashed burgers with a plant-based option, along with chicken sandwiches and tenders.
Side items feature fries, cheese fries and loaded chicken fries. The restaurant also serves fountain drinks and shakes.
