Amtrak overhead wire problems and a disabled train caused 60-minute delays on NJ Transit rail lines to and from New York on Monday morning.

Commuters faced double trouble — a train that broke down near Newark around 7:30 a.m. and overhead wire problems on the Northeast Corridor line, according to agency alerts.

NJ Transit police and a rescue train were sent to take passengers off the disabled train.

PATH is cross honoring NJ Transit rail tickets at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street. However commuters faced delays on PATH’s Newark-World Trade center line due to a police investigation at Harrison.

The Northeast Corridor is owned by Amtrak and NJ Transit leases space on it for commuter trains.
