Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appears to still be looking after the late Queen’s corgis after being booted out of Royal Lodge. The dogs, Sandy and Muick, were taken in by the former Duke of York and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to live in their former Windsor mansion following the death of Andrew’s late mother in 2022.

After Andrew was stripped of all of his royal titles and forced to give up his Royal Lodge home, Buckingham Palace cryptically said the dogs would “remain within the family”. And now it has emerged that they appeared to have moved with Andrew to Sandringham after they were spotted on a walk nearby.

Photos appear to show them being taken out by security close to Wood Farm, the former prince’s temporary home until his permanent home of Marsh Farm is ready.

It means that Fergie, who often posted about the dogs on her Instagram account, is without the pets as she continues her search for a new home after not moving to the King’s private estate with her former husband. The former Duchess of York even talked about the pets, who captured the heart of the nation at the late Queen’s funeral, during an appearance on This Morning and revealed how they missed the former monarch.

News about the corgis comes as the King has made clear his “profound concern” at allegations about Andrew’s conduct, with Buckingham Palace saying it will “stand ready to support” the police if approached over the claims. Thames Valley Police has confirmed it is assessing suggestions that the King’s brother shared confidential reports from his role as the UK’s trade envoy with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Buckingham Palace is prepared to hand over any documents relating to Andrew’s personal engagements, or guests he may have taken to a royal residence, or correspondence sent from a royal email address, it is understood.

Andrew has always denied claims he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre when she was 17 years old in 2001 and trafficked around the world by Epstein and his former lover, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Among the latest allegations are claims that a second woman was in 2010 sent to Andrew’s Royal Lodge home by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew. A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “The King has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct.

“While the specific claims in question are for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police, we stand ready to support them as you would expect. As was previously stated, Their Majesties’ thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain with, the victims of any and all forms of abuse.”

Today, Prince William was challenged over Andrew, as the royal family continued to be dogged by the Epstein scandal. William was asked questions by the broadcast media after he watched talented schoolgirls honing their football skills at a sports ground in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh.

A reporter travelling with the prince shouted twice: “Sir, to what extent do you think the royal family has done enough around the Andrew and Epstein issue.”

It is not clear if William, midway through a three-day Saudi visit, heard the question clearly, as he was some distance away, and did not respond as he walked off the pitch at the Misk Sports City.

Much of the work of the royal family in recent weeks has been overshadowed by the ongoing Epstein scandal, reignited when a huge tranche of millions of documents associated with Epstein, a convicted sex offender, were released by US authorities in January.
