NEW YORK, NY — At 102 Fulton St., the stainless-steel prep line will become a stopwatch stage as customers step behind the counter and try to assemble a Turkey Tom faster than the staff who do it every day.

The Jimmy John’s location in Lower Manhattan will host its first Freaky Fast Fulton Sandwich Challenge, inviting New Yorkers to build the brand’s Turkey Tom sandwich in under 20 seconds for a chance to win free sandwiches for a year. The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.

Participants who beat the clock will receive free sandwiches for a year in the form of incentive cards, while all challengers will walk away with at least one free sandwich card. The store will also offer branded giveaways, music from a live DJ, and photo opportunities throughout the morning.

The challenge puts customers face to face with the speed Jimmy John’s is known for. The brand prepares its sandwiches with bread baked on site and never more than four hours old, vegetables sliced in-house daily, and all-natural meats paired with Hellmann’s mayonnaise.

Jimmy John’s staff will oversee the challenge as guests race to layer bread, turkey, lettuce, tomato, and mayo with precision and speed. The Fulton Street location expects a steady stream of contestants as office workers, commuters, and downtown residents test whether they can match the pace of the sandwich makers behind the counter.
