Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show was a moment that was waited for by millions — so much so that the “Benito Bowl,” as it was lovingly coined by fans, had an impact on New Yorkers’ bathroom habits…literally!
People were so excited to see Bad Bunny’s (born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) performance that they held off going to the bathroom.
According to an X post by NYC Department of Environmental Protection, during Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show, the city saw a reduction in water use across the five boroughs. One can only assume that few bathroom trips were taken during Bad Bunny’s elaborate show because they didn’t want to miss a second.
In the same X post, NYC DEP went on to say that in the 15 minutes right after the show, “there was a spike in usage equivalent to 761,719 toilets flushing across town.” In other words, New Yorkers who were holding it in, FINALLY went to use the bathroom after seeing Bad Bunny’s performance.
