RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan Jaspers women’s basketball team (6-18, 6-9 MAAC), on the backs of 47 combined points from Brianna Davis (18), Colette Mulderig (16), and Elisa Solé Sanchez (13), broke their five-game losing streak against the Purple Eagles from Niagara (0-24, 0-15 MAAC) by a final score of 60-42 inside Draddy Gymnasium on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Being held without a basket over the first four minutes, Hana Mühl found herself with the ball in the defensive end and went coast-to-coast on the first Jasper bucket of the game.
Mulderig collected six points throughout the opening frame, with four coming via the free throw stripe.
Newcomer Tatianna Collins tacked on the last score of the first, putting Manhattan down three after 10 minutes.
Davis teamed up with Mulderig to score the first two field goals in the second, putting the deficit back at three.
Two more at the stripe for Davis put the Green and White within six at the halftime break.
Mulderig increased her scoring total to double digits after an inside layup, with Manhattan now down just a point.
Solé Sanchez collected the next five points on her own to give the Jaspers their largest and only lead of the night thus far.
A 20-5 run later ensued after Solé Sanchez lit up the crowd, as Davis’ final punch came with four seconds to play, giving the hosts a 12 point advantage at the horn.
Davis and Mulderig had combined for 32 points by the midway point of the fourth, with Manhattan tallying five free throws in that same stretch.
Mühl drained a shot from beyond the arc as the shot clock expired with 4:05 to go, seemingly putting the dagger in the contest.
