New York Road Runners (NYRR), the US-based non-profit that produces over 60 annual adult and youth races, has announced that the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon will be broadcast live to nearly 550 million homes in over 160 countries.

The marathon, organised by NYRR, takes place on Sunday, November 2, 2025. In the US, the coverage will air on ESPN2 and ABC7/WABC-TV in the New York City area.

Rob Simmelkjaer, CEO at New York Road Runners, said “We are excited to give fans more ways than ever to experience the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon and the best day of the year, in the best city in the world.

“From the debut of our first-ever documentary film on ESPN+ to enhanced coverage across ESPN2, WABC-TV, iHeartRadio, and the NYRR App, we invite spectators from around the world to be part of the race-day magic.”

For US viewers, the main broadcast on ESPN2 and the ESPN App will run from 08:00–11:30 ET. Pre-race and continuing coverage will be streamed live on ESPN+ and the ESPN App from 07:00–08:00 ET and 11:30–13:00 ET.

A domestic, Spanish-language broadcast will also air live on ESPN3 from 08:00–11:30 ET. Locally, the race will air on ABC7/WABC-TV from 08:00–13:00 ET, with pre-coverage airing 07:00–08:00 ET.

A live radio broadcast will air on iHeartMedia New York’s 710 WOR and iHeartMedia’s streaming and digital platforms from 07:30–12:00 ET.

For the second consecutive year, the television broadcast – which is produced in coordination with 45 Live and distributed by IGM – was awarded a New York Emmy award for Sports Program – Live (Single Program) in September.

Beyond the extensive coverage in the USA, the event’s media partner IMG has secured international broadcast distribution for the race, via entities such as ESPN International (South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean), Eurosport (Europe, Southeast Asia, India), and Fox Sports/Kayo (Australia).

Ahead of race day, NYRR is releasing its first-ever documentary short film, ‘Final Finishers’, on Saturday, November 1, on ESPN+ and ABC7NY.com. The 30-minute documentary was co-produced by East 89th St Productions, NYRR’s content studio, and Tribeca Studios.

Olympian Clayton Young, who finished the 2025 World Championships marathon as the top American, will join the broadcast team for the first time, covering the race leaders along the course.

The New York Road Runners App, developed by Tata Consultancy Services, allows participants and spectators to access runner tracking and watch uninterrupted live feeds of all four professional divisions. It also offers feeds from course cameras at the start, miles 8, 16, and 20, and the finish line.
