Two people were injured, one seriously, following a crash yesterday in unincorporated Manhattan.
Crews were called to the scene just after 4:30pm at the intersection of Manhattan-Monee and Schoolhouse Roads for a two-vehicle crash with entrapment. It took fire crews around 20 minutes to extricate one driver from their vehicle, and they were airlifted to an area hospital. A second driver was taken by ambulance to another area hospital in unknown condition.
Illinois State Police had the intersection closed for nearly six hours. An investigation is underway.
