A Republican challenger has thrown their hat into the ring for New York’s 113th state Assembly seat.
Allen Caruso announced his campaign to challenge incumbent Carrie Woerner. Caruso has a business degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and is a small business owner.
He’s formally announcing his candidacy at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Panza’s Restaurant in Saratoga Springs.Â
“This campaign is about restoring affordability, strengthening public safety, and bringing common-sense leadership back to District 113,” Caruso said on his campaign’s Facebook page.
The 113th District includes parts of Saratoga, Washington and Warren counties.
Woerner told Spectrum News 1 she is definitely running for reelection. She’s been in office since 2015.
