A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Thursday at 3:19 a.m. for black ice until 10 a.m. for Orange, Putnam and Suffolk counties.
“Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing early this morning, and with residual moisture from recent precipitation, areas of black ice are possible on untreated roads and other surfaces. The black ice will persist through the morning commute and motorist are urged to slow down and travel with caution this Thursday morning,” states the weather service.
