28-year-old man stabbed in front of John Jay College on the Upper West Side

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) — Police are investigating after a man was stabbed right in front of John Jay College on the Upper West Side on Thursday.

NYPD officials say a 28-year-old man was stabbed in the back with an unknown sharp object in front of the college at 524 W. 59th St. just before 7:30 p.m.

He was taken to Mount Sinai West, which is across the street.

The entrance to the college on 10th Avenue is now blocked by police tape.

Police have not made any arrests, and there’s no word yet on a motive.

The investigation is ongoing.
