NEW YORK (PIX11) — A dangerous nor’easter could bring 24 inches of snow to parts of the tri-state area. Here’s when to expect the snow to start falling.

New York City will see a mix of rain and snow throughout the day, turning fully into snow by 7 p.m., according to PIX11’s meteorologists. Snow will start to accumulate at that point.

NYC forecast and PIX11’s Weather Center

Snow rates will increase to 2-3 inches per hour overnight and into Monday morning, lingering through 10 or 11 a.m.

Some areas in New Jersey, like Morristown, Trenton and Sussex, saw snowfall starting between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Snow will start in the rest of New Jersey by the early evening.

The snowstorm will peak after 7 p.m. Sunday and continue into Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Long Island, New York City, and eastern New Jersey will see between 12 and 20 inch es of accumulation, with some areas up to two feet of snow.
