STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection with a fatal shooting in Manhattan.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault near the intersection of 8th Avenue and West 39th Street in Midtown.

When they arrived, they found Mark Jackson, 43, with a gunshot wound to his neck. EMS would later pronounce Jackson dead on the scene.

Police describe the man they are seeking as having a dark complexion.

He was last seen wearing a dark-colored sweater with white lettering on the front, multicolored pants and gray sneakers.

The man was also seen wearing a black backpack and a blue medical mask over his face.

According to police, the individual was last seen entering the 50th Street subway station and boarding a C train heading northbound.
