A fire burned through a home in Staten Island.
The two-alarm fire broke out just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday on Rensselaer Avenue between Foster and Lenevar avenues in the Huguenot section.
More than 141 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene. The flames melted the siding on the house next door.
Five people suffered minor injuries. One 30-year-old man, said to be the adult son of the homeowner, went to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Four firefighters were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
The fire was placed under control just before noon.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
