A Minnesota-based promotional company has issued a voluntary recall of more than 6,000 cases of repackaged M&Ms distributed across 20 states, including New York, because of missing allergen labels.
Peanuts, soy and milk were found in some of the products, the FDA said.
These aren’t M&Ms you can buy at the store, but they are the kind you pick up at a promotional event. And a lot of companies, including Subaru, Morgan Stanley, and Adobe, used them. See the FDA-provided list here.
Beacon Promotions initiated the recall in late January after the repackaged M&Ms were found to have missing labels.
The FDA categorizes the M&M recall as Class II, which means the risk of serious adverse health effects to the general public is pretty low. Still, anyone who has allergies related to the affected products should toss them.
