Two Manhattan High bowlers are headed to state. 

At the 6A regional meet held at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence on Wednesday, Manhattan’s Cortlynn Millington and Kael Stock finished in the top 10 individually to punch their ticket to state next week. 

The Manhattan boys placed fifth as a team, rolling a team score of 3,302, just a pin behind Junction City who placed fourth. 

Washburn Rural (3,614) took first, followed by Mill Valley (3,341) and Olathe West (3,332). 

On the girls’ side, Manhattan placed seventh with a score of 2,750. 

Mill Valley (3,416) took first, followed by Junction City (3,099) and Washburn Rural (3,011). 

Millington had the top individual score on the girls’ side, bowling a 684 (225-214-245) in three games. Millington, a sophomore, is now a two-time individual regional champion. She finished ninth at state as a freshman in 2025. 

Serenity Manis rolled a 490 (188-152-150) and placed 30th, Brooke Thede had a 473 (158-166-149) and finished 34th, Temperance Case bowled a 464 (135-127-202, 36th) and Joselyn Klingele ended with a 459 (137-163-159, 38th). The MHS girls did not have a fifth bowler participate. 

For the MHS boys, Stock rolled a 704 (243-216-245) to place fourth overall. This will be the junior’s first trip to state. 

Alec Ogorzolka finished 14th with a 618 (204-210-204), followed right behind by Nicholas Burfict who bowled a 617 (244-180-193). Kohen Naillieux bowled a 531 (185-213-133, 45th), Nathan DeArmond had a 518 (172-192-154, 48th) and Keondre Bridges had a 497 (164-180-153, 56th). 

Millington and Stock will now advance on to the 6A State Championship held at Bowlero Northrock in Wichita on Wednesday. The boys will bowl in the morning and the girls in the afternoon.
