On February 28, 2026, at about 7:40 p.m., troopers responded to the report of a collision between a car and a motorcycle on State Route 40 in Schaghticoke. The operator of the motorcycle was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported. State Route 40 was closed until approximately 11:30 p.m. due to the investigation.
The cause of the crash is pending further investigation, and the name will not be released at this time.Â
