(WRGB) — New York State police are investigating after a small plane went down in the Hudson River south of the Newburgh Beacon Bridge on March 2, 2026.

At about 8:02 p.m., New Yok State Police at Montgomery responded to a report of a plane crash in the river. Authorities said Stewart International Airport operations were in communication with a Cessna airplane that landed in the Hudson River.

Both were able to get out of the plane on their own and were found on shore near 401 Water St. They were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with minor injuries.

State police, working with the National Transportation Safety Board, are actively investigating. More information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
