David and Victoria Beckham have posted to Instagram to celebrate their estranged son Brooklyn Beckham’s birthday.
Brooklyn Beckham turned 27 on March 4, and his parents’ post follows a series of allegations he made in January.
Brooklyn Beckham married heiress Nicola Peltz Beckham in April 2022, and since then, rumours of a family feud have circulated.
David and Victoria Beckham have surprised followers of their long-running Beckham family feud by wishing their estranged son, Brooklyn Beckham, a happy birthday on Instagram, and Brooklyn apparently isn’t impressed. On Wednesday, David and Victoria Beckham celebrated their oldest son’s birthday with a series of Instagram posts.
Their birthday posts come two months after Brooklyn Beckham shared that he had requested that his parents contact him only through a lawyer.
“Twenty-seven today,” Sir David wrote alongside a teary-eyes emoji and white heart. “Happy birthday Bust, we love you.”
The post was accompanied by a nostalgic photograph of David and Victoria in a swimming pool with Brooklyn as a young child. A second image shared by David showed him and Brooklyn together in black-and-white, captioned simply: “Happy birthday Bust. Love you x.” Victoria meanwhile posted to her own Instagram writing: “Happy birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much ❤️.”
Victoria Beckham also posted throwback photos and wrote that she loved her son “so much,” signalling a rare public gesture amid the feud. Sir David Beckham has “Buster”—Brooklyn’s childhood nickname—tattooed on his neck.
Sources have told Entertainment Tonight that Brooklyn is “disheartened” by the posts. “These are the exact type of performative public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail.”
In January this year, Brooklyn Beckham made a series of explosive accusations against his parents on Instagram Stories. In the posts he alleged, among other things, that they had attempted to “ruin” his relationship with his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham and that Victoria Beckham had behaved “very inappropriately” with him during a moment at his wedding reception. The claims quickly went viral online and fuelled a wave of commentary across social media, though David and Victoria never issued a formal public response.

There have been conflicting accounts from the wedding, particularly concerning the now-infamous mother-son dance. Marc Anthony, who, according to Brooklyn, called Victoria Beckham “the most beautiful woman in the room”, causing Nicola Peltz Beckham to run out crying, later told The Hollywood Reporter that the episode had been mischaracterised. “It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out — but [how it’s playing out] is hardly the truth,” he told the publication. Brooklyn’s allegation that Victoria Beckham backed out of making Nicola Peltz Beckham’s wedding dress at the eleventh hour has also been called into question. The bride eventually wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture look, and entertainment publications have pointed to a Vogue article which thoroughly documented the couple’s wedding, including detailing extensive preparations for Nicola’s gown that took a year’s worth of conversations with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s team.
Brooklyn Beckham is yet to directly address his parent’s posts.
