NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – A New York City Department of Education employee was arrested on multiple sex‑offense charges following an NYPD investigation, authorities said.

Police said Steven Schnee, 48, was taken into custody just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Schnee, a DOE employee, was charged with forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child, sexual abuse, and harassment, according to the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

Additional details about the incident, including when and where the alleged conduct occurred, were not released.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The DOE did not immediately respond to PIX11’s request for comment.
