Veteran NFL insider Gary Myers is debunking the recent reports that the New York Giants were in the running to acquire Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie this week.
On Wednesday, the Chiefs traded McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for the Rams’ 2026 first-round pick (No. 29), 2026 fifth-and sixth-round picks, and a 2027 third-round pick.
It was widely reported that the Giants were heavily in the mix for McDuffie, an angle that Myers is refuting based on his sources.
Myers also shot down any notion that Big Blue is interested in signing a big-ticket running back, such as Seattle’s Kenneth Walker III, this year’s Super Bowl MVP, in free agency.
The Giants are under new management with John Harbaugh coming in as head coach. They have been playing things closer to the vest this offseason, so there have been fewer leaks.

Myers had the inside track on Harbaugh’s hiring, but his reporting varies greatly from many other team beat writers and national reporters when it comes to the Giants’ free agent plans.
