A recent listing online for a local deli for rent caught HG’s eye over the weekend. The location listed for rent is the same address as Lisa’s Deli, located at 901 Park Avenue, and is a longtime Hoboken favorite. We reached out to Lisa’s team to learn more about what changes could be coming to the space. Read on for more about what could be happening at Lisa’s Deli.
About Lisa’s Deli
Lisa’s Deli, located at 901 Park Avenue, opened in December 1971. The deli was founded by Pietro and Caterina Lisa, who were later joined in the business by their sons, Tony + Angelo. Lisa’s has everything from basic breakfast sandwiches to classic Italian entrees for catering. The shop also has imported Italian goods, including pasta and sauces.
Lisa’s is probably best known for its extensive hoagie, sandwich + wrap menu and its house-made mozzarella. Lisa’s has been a participant in Hoboken Mutz Fest for over 10 years, and is a go-to spot for fresh mutz.
An HG reader sent us a listing in the Facebook group called “Restaurants For Sale By Owner.” The listing had a real estate agent attached to it, and the listing has since been deleted. The Hoboken Girl has reached out to the Lisa’s team, and the listing agent to learn more about whether the space is for rent. Via DM, the Lisa’s team said that the deli was not for rent, and that the listing was a mistake.

However, a different local real estate agent confirmed to HG that the space is for rent, and that Lisa’s Deli is closing.
