CONCOURSE, Bronx (PIX11) — A tradition more than 50 years strong is returning after an abrupt cancellation over economic challenges.

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson announced that Bronx Week will return this year, and while details have yet to be released, she hints that it will be bigger and better than ever.

The news is a quick reversal after Gibson announced a pause on the event last week.

Organized by the Borough president’s office and the Bronx Tourism Council, Bronx Week is an annual celebration held in May that honors the borough’s culture, history, and community through parades, festivals, concerts, and the Walk of Fame inductions.

Gibson says to stay tuned for event details and the official announcement.
