While it is still very early, some weather models are predicting that Melissa will impact the weather for parts of New York State, and it could be very messy.

Several early weather models have the tropical storm named Melissa impacting parts of New York State on Halloween and into November 1st. While it is still early and these models change often, you might want to prepare for a messy evening of trick-or-treating.

Temperatures should remain above freezing, so snow won’t be a factor unless Melissa sucks some of the northern air across the state when it moves up the coast. But as of right now, you might want to think more rain boots than snow boots for trick-or-treating in New York State.
