FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast (16-4, 3-0 ASUN) secured a 4-2 victory over Queens University of Charlotte (4-16, 0-3 ) on Saturday at Swanson Stadium, completing a three-game sweep of the Royals to open ASUN play.
The Eagles’ offense came alive in the sixth inning with two runs, retaking the lead and recording FGCU’s seventh come-from-behind win of the season. Javier Gorostola, whose school-record hitting streak was in jeopardy when he came to the plate in the sixth, lashed a single through the left side to put the Eagles ahead and to extend his hitting streak to 38 games.
