Canandaigua, N.Y. – People from across New York will gather this Sunday at Kershaw Park in Canandaigua to “take the plunge” into the icy waters of Canandaigua Lake, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics New York athletes in the Genesee Region.

The Polar Plunge stands out as one of the most popular fundraising events for Special Olympics New York.

Participants collect donations by reaching out to friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances.

Registration for the Polar Plunge begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, with the plunge itself set for noon.

Kershaw Park is located at 155 Lakeshore Drive on Canandaigua Lake.

Over the years, the Canandaigua community has raised more than $250,000 for Special Olympics New York.
