While the recent snowstorm may have blanketed the streets of the Rebbe’s Shchuna, it did anything but chill the atmosphere at Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch (YTTL) Queens. Instead, the weather provided a unique backdrop for a transformative workshop led by the renowned Rabbi Chaim Katz of Israel.
Rabbi Katz, a specialist celebrated for his expertise in fostering deep, lasting connections—whether between corporate staff or fathers and sons—brought his signature warmth and insight to the bochurim. Originally scheduled to present at the Menahalim retreat of MEF (Menachem Education Foundation) in Florida, Rabbi Katz found himself “snowed in” here in Brooklyn.
Seizing the Hashgacha Protis opportunity, with encouragement of the Menahel, Rabbi Yossi Hendel —who was participating in the Florida convention from afar—Rabbi Katz pivoted to lead this intensive, hands-on session. The activities were specifically designed to train the boys in the art of building “lasting relationships,” focusing on developing the social skills and emotional intelligence, so critical to a Tomim and Chassidishe Bochur.
A special Yasher Koach is extended to Rabbi Yossi Soble, whose seamless organization ensured that what could have been a simple “snow day” became a milestone in the bochurim’s personal development!
