WESTMINSTER, Md. – The 2026 ECAC DIII Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament wrapped up on Sunday afternoon, with McDaniel defeating Brooklyn in the final in a battle of the tournament’s top two seeds. Senior Elaina Beckett led the way for the Green Terror, leading all scorers with 26 points while adding 11 rebounds to round out her third double-double in her last five games.
 
McDaniel controlled the opening tip, but it was Brooklyn’s Dior Dorsey that came away with the first bucket of the night at the other end of the floor. The Green Terror followed with a 14-5 run, going by up by seven to close out the opening quarter.
 
The momentum carried over into the second quarter, with five different McDaniel players finding the bottom of the net. Beckett knocked down a jumper in the final minute of the half to give McDaniel its biggest lead of the day, and the team carried a 13-point lead into the locker room at the break.
 
The third quarter proved to be Brooklyn’s best stretch of the day, as the Bulldogs outscored their hosts 18-12, cutting the deficit down to seven heading to the final chapter. Each team saved their highest-scoring quarter for the fourth, where they matched one another with 21 points apiece, but McDaniel was able to hold on for the win.
 
Brianna Jackson led Brooklyn with 20 points and Anna Kitch followed, while Jackson added five assists and five steals. Lauren Cavoli joined Beckett in double-figures for the Green Terror with 15, and Teya McConnaha came away with eight rebounds.
 
Brooklyn outrebounded McDaniel 38-36 for the day, while the battle of the boards was split down the middle. The Green Terror shot 42% from the floor for the day and knocked down eight attempts from behind the arc.
 
McDaniel improves to 22-7 on the year, including a 12-4 mark on their home floor. At the conclusion of the game, the All-Tournament Team was announced, with Beckett taking home MVP honors.
