If you happen to ask Izzy Robbins about her weekend, you’re going to get a number of answers.

It was busy, physically exhausting and rewarding all at the same time.

Robbins, a senior pole vaulter at Grand Haven High School was in Boston on Saturday and New York City on Sunday. It was at the Nike Indoor Nationals where Robbins earned a national championship at the Nike Track and Field Center.

Robbins vaulted 13-8 1/4 to top the field of 24 top vaulters. Addison Kleinke took second and Renata Bergstrom came in third. They were the only three competitors to clear 13 feet. It was Robbins personal best vault.

Robbins went to her 8-step approach for the first time this year and it paid off. In all, she vaulted 24 times for the weekend.

She also had plenty of success on Saturday at the New Balance National Indoor Meet in Boston, where the University of Louisville commit finished third at 13-4 1/2. Katie Blue, from Potterville, finished first at 14-0 1/2 and Amelia Smith was second at 13-8 1/2.

That event had 40-plus vaulters entered.
