A man is in critical condition following a gunshot wound to the head in a shooting in which an off-duty officer was involved, according to the NYPD.

A call came in Monday at 9:12 p.m. of a man shot in front of 167 W 231st St. in The Bronx.

The 30-year-old man, who was shot in the head, was transported to NY Presbyterian Allen Hospital by private means.

According to police, no arrests have been made and there is no description of the person or people responsible for the shooting. There is also no information on the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Police did confirm there was an off-duty officer involved in the shooting but did not elaborate in what sense they were involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
