Shrekno will happen at Chevy Court on Friday, September 4 at 9 p.m.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Department of Agriculture and Markets announced Tuesday Shrek Rave is coming to the Great New York State Fair.

The ogre-themed rave, appropriately named ‘Shrekno,’ will happen at Chevy Court on Friday, September 4, at 9 p.m. The rave includes an immersive 360-degree projection that matches animations of Shrek and a light show to the flow of music. 

“Nostalgia is a big element of The Great New York State Fair experience,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “For many fairgoers, the music and memories of Shrek are fun, upbeat and full of nostalgia. We can’t wait to bring this one-of-a-kind night to the fairgrounds!”

Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to dress the part. Due to the Fair’s dress code, all masks and face coverings are not allowed.

The 2026 Chevrolet Music Series is expected to feature over 40 national recording acts. More acts will be announced over the coming months. Here’s what’s been announced so far:
