Gracie Abrams has yet another NYC penthouse under her real estate belt—and ooh, bet you’re thinking she’s so cool. (That, and/or “real estate is a smart investment!”) The Grammy-nominated pop star, budding real estate mogul, and daughter of Hollywood director J.J. Abrams spent $4.5 million on an apartment at Greenwich Village’s One Fifth Avenue. The landmarked Art Deco structure, designed by architect Harvey Wiley Corbett in 1926, originally served as a luxury hotel before being converted into a residential co-op in 1976.

This isn’t Gracie Abrams’s first—or even, second—purchase in the pre-war, Art Deco building. Since late 2024, the singer has snagged a total of three units. She owns a three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence on the 18th floor, which was combined from two separate units, for $5.5 million in early 2025. The modern dwelling was initially on the market with an asking price of roughly $6 million; however, the price tag dropped to $5 million by the time Abrams closed on the deal in December 2025. The “That’s So True” hitmaker also picked up another unit in the building on the 16th floor: a midcentury pad decked out in parquet floors, which she purchased from visual artist John Sennhauser for $1.95 million in November 2024.
Abrams’s newest apartment sits adjacent to her other 18th-floor unit. Similarly, it consolidates two smaller apartments into a large one-bedroom space with two terraces. While it’s unclear what Abrams plans to do with her multiple penthouses, she could easily configure her same-level units into a mega-dwelling. If merged, it would boast a total of five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and five terraces with views of Washington Square Park.
For decades, One Fifth Avenue has been home to a long list of A-listers and New York elites. In addition to Abrams, the storied property has housed the likes of actor Jessica Lange, singer Patti Smith, musician Keith Richards, filmmaker Tim Burton, and actor Helena Bonham Carter. Blythe Danner, Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom, bought an apartment on the 17th floor in 2007 for $3.125 million; the year prior, she sold her eighth-floor home, where Brad Pitt and Paltrow lived as a couple in the 1990s. With Abrams investing nearly $12 million in the iconic building, it appears she has ambitious plans to transform her penthouses into a larger, more expansive abode. As for ideas for her lower-level apartment…may we suggest a guest suite?
