Brooklyn Beckham stepped back into the spotlight over Oscars weekend, reuniting with his godfather Elton John at the music icon’s annual Academy Awards viewing party, all while ongoing tensions within the Beckham family continue to simmer publicly.
Brooklyn attended the star-studded event alongside his wife, Nicola Peltz, with the couple making a polished appearance in coordinated black looks. The party, one of the most high-profile events of Oscars night, drew a packed guest list including Dua Lipa, Donatella Versace, Keke Palmer, Tiffany Haddish, and Dove Cameron, among others. A live performance from Grammy winner Lola Young added to the night’s energy.
Beyond the celebrity turnout, the event once again delivered on its philanthropic mission, raising $10.6 million for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which supports HIV prevention and treatment worldwide.
“The Academy Awards Viewing Party reflects why we started this Foundation 34 years ago,” Elton John said. “To honor the friends we lost and advocate for the people still vulnerable.”
Brooklyn’s appearance at the party, however, comes at a complicated moment. The event fell on Mother’s Day in the UK, and he notably did not post a public tribute to his mother, Victoria Beckham, amid reports of an ongoing family rift.
Instead, Brooklyn shared a message celebrating his mother-in-law, Claudia Heffner Peltz, writing, “Happy birthday to the best mother-in-law. Love u so much and hope u had the most amazing day.”
Nicola also posted a heartfelt tribute to her mother, calling herself “the luckiest ever” to celebrate her. Meanwhile, Brooklyn’s father, David Beckham, publicly honored Victoria with a family-focused message, praising her as “the most amazing mummy” to their four children.
The contrast didn’t go unnoticed.
Still, on a night built around Hollywood glitz and global causes, Brooklyn’s reunion with Elton John served as a reminder of long-standing personal ties, even as the next chapter of the Beckham family story continues to play out in real time.
