BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A New York City man was arrested in an undercover operation and now stands accused of attempting to meet a supposed 15-year-old boy for a sexual encounter at a Boynton Beach park.
The Boynton Beach Police Department said that on March 11, Geoffrey Alexander Gordon, 50, engaged in explicit conversations online with an undercover officer whom he believed to be 15 years old.
According to the police department, the messages exchanged between Gordon and the undercover officer included discussions about sexual acts.
The report states that they arranged to meet at Intracoastal Park in Boynton Beach at 2:30 p.m. for what Gordon believed would be a sexual encounter.

Upon his arrival at the park, Gordon was met by Boynton Beach police and taken into custody.
After his arrest, he allegedly told officers that he wasn’t there to abduct any children and claimed he had learned his lesson.

Gordon now faces several charges, including Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sex, Solicitation of a Minor to Engage in Sexual Conduct, and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device.
