Earlier this week, Mormon co-creators Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez announced on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that
the June 9–14 performances of the Tony-winning musical will
feature appearances
in every show by original cast members, including Tony nominees Josh Gad
(Elder Cunningham) and Rannells (Elder Price), Tony winner Nikki
M. James (Nabulungi), and Tony nominee O’Malley (Elder McKinley).
The original cast members, celebrating the musical’s 15th anniversary,
will perform select scenes
and songs at each performance alongside the current cast, with no show
exactly the same. The “Magical Mormon Mystery Week” performances will
also feature
Parker, Stone, and Lopez as well as Broadway’s original Mormon and
Ugandan ensembles at certain
performances, plus other surprise guests from the Mormon family throughout the week. Tickets for the special performances are now available at ATG Tickets.
The Book of Mormon is the longest-running show in the
100-year history of the Eugene O’Neill Theatre and the 10th
longest-running show in Broadway history.
