All hail broke loose in Manhattan early Sunday when a maniac carjacked a yellow taxi and took cops on a wild chase on the West Side, cops said.

Armed whacko Joseph Ryce, 28, hopped into the backseat of a yellow cab parked outside the ritzy Five Manhattan West in Midtown at just after midnight and told the driver to get out, police said.

The 28-year-old thief sped away on 10th Avenue and refused to stop when cops tried to pull him over, cops said.

The chase continued until the bad driver slammed into an unmarked cop car — before police descended on the cab and took the driver into custody, authorities said.

The car thief was then taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries to either party involved in the chase, authorities said.

He is now facing charges including grand larceny and robbery.
