POMONA, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Baseball team (8-12, 3-6 MAAC) was upended by the Bobcats of Quinnipiac University (7-13, 2-4 MAAC) by a score of 9-3 inside Clover Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED


Trailing by as much as six in the home half of the fourth inning, the Jaspers got on the board with Justin Best reaching on a fielder’s choice to score Vincent Samuel, who had singled into centerfield to open the inning.
In the sixth inning, Manhattan found its way back on the scoreboard with three straight singles to open the inning with Colin Basehore, Hunter Sute, and Best all notching knocks, with the latter driving in the former for the Jaspers’ second run.
The Jaspers logged their third run in the ninth inning with a Samuel single to drive home Ryan Lordier with the bases loaded.

STATS AND NOTES


Infielder Vincent Samuel logged a 2-for-5 afternoon, crossing the plate once, and recorded an RBI.
Infielder Guriyandel Salva posted a 2-for-5 day, with one strikeout.
Catcher Hunter Sute recorded a 1-for-4 afternoon, with one strikeout.
Infielder Trevor Hansen supplied one hit in four at-bats on the afternoon.
