LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A local third grader is bringing home the top trophy from the JewQ International Jewish Knowledge Championship after a weekend competition in New York.

Charlotte Henn was one of more than 4,200 young scholars who competed across 250 regional championships worldwide.

Many of the competitors were the only Jewish student in their public schools.

Henn earned her spot on the international stage through months of independent study, mastering the JewQ “Living Jewish” curriculum before outperforming peers in regional competitions and then in Sunday’s high-stakes finale.
