ICE agents are expected to be at local airports starting Monday to assist TSA amid the government shutdown.

The agents are expected to help with tasks such as checking IDs and managing lines while TSA agents focus on screening.

Many TSA workers continue showing up to the job and are working without pay. Some are calling out sick or leaving the job.

Passengers at John F. Kennedy airport are seeing long lines. In addition, planes meant to fly into LaGuardia airport are being directed to JFK after an Air Canada plane crashed into a fire truck on the runway.
