Police from the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill are looking for a suspect who allegedly stabbed a man he was arguing with during the early morning hours of Monday, March 16.

Police say the 30-year-old victim was inside a bar at 110-12 Jamaica Ave. in Richmond Hill when he was approached by an unidentified man at 1:10 a.m. The two got into a verbal dispute and the bartender told them to take it outside. The two men then headed out of the lounge onto Jamaica Avenue, police said.

The argument escalated into violence when the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed him in the torso, according to law enforcement cources. The assailant ran off in an unknown direction and remains at large. EMS responded to the location and rushed the wounded man to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition with a deep laceration to his gut.

The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect and described him as having a medium complexion with a dark beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on the left side of his chest, black pants, white sneakers and a black baseball cap.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment.

Through March 22, the 102nd Precinct has reported 70 felony assaults so far in 2026, four more than the 66 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 6.1%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
