Curry has intensified his on-court activity in recent days, but was scratched Sunday from a scrimmage in Atlanta, where an announced evaluation Saturday said “he will be incorporated into live action and team practices in coming days.” Instead of scrimmaging Sunday, Curry completed a normal workout and didn’t experience a setback with his progress, according to the Warriors.
On Friday, Golden State plays the Washington Wizards at Chase Center.
Curry last played Jan. 30, when right kneecap soreness knocked him out of the third quarter of a loss to the Detroit Pistons. The soreness first emerged Jan. 24 during a workout in Minneapolis in lieu of a postponed matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Golden State is 7-15 in this extended stretch without Curry, who is averaging 27.2 points (46.8% shooting, 39.1% 3-point shooting) through 39 games of his 17th season.
Additionally against the Nets, the Warriors will be without center Al Horford (right calf strain), center Quinten Post (right foot soreness) and guard Seth Curry (left adductor strain) – along with star wing Jimmy Butler (torn right ACL) and swingman Moses Moody (left patellar tendon rupture), who are out for the season.
A Sunday matchup in Denver with the Nuggets follows Golden State’s two-game homestand.
